It is the desire of The Nido & Mariana Qubein Children’s Museum to support foster children and their foster families through Macon’s Wish. Macon’s Wish offers foster families, licensed through 7 Homes Foster Agency, a low-cost entry into the museum and provides an explorative, fun, and imaginative environment for children and families to make memories and share experiences.
Macon’s wish honors an exuberant 7-year-old who chose to live every moment with much enthusiasm! Macon loved the museum and found such freedom in having a place just to be a kid! Macon’s foster journey began at 6 months of age and was accompanied by his sibling. Macon was later diagnosed with cancer that manifested in his brain. At a very young age, Macon showed an immeasurable amount of courage and bravery as he fearlessly battled the diagnosis. He victoriously overcame and continued a path through foster care. At age 7, Macon was confronted with cancer a second time and contracted an infection amid treatment.
Macon no longer bears the weight or the battle of a diagnosis. He is free of the burdens he bore. Macon is greatly missed and through Macon’s Wish, we strive to keep his precious legacy alive. We wish for you and your family to come to play, laugh, and create lasting memories at The Nido & Mariana Qubein Children’s Museum just as Macon did.
"It is our hope that you know you are loved and encouraged throughout your journey. Foster Care is challenging but worth every moment. Know that no matter the circumstances, no matter the end of the road, your influence will remain. If even for a moment in your care, they will always feel the impact you left on their heart and mind. Enjoy this time with family and we thank you for being a part of Macon’s Wish" – Macon’s Foster Family
